Vascular ring is an anomaly which occurs as a result of the anomalous development of the aortic arch complex and is mostly encountered in the infantile period with tracheoesophageal compression symptoms. These anomalies are extremely rare among all the congenital cardiovascular anomalies. Double aortic arch is the most common complete type vascular ring anomaly.
We herein describe a case of asymptomatic double aortic arch diagnosed incidentally on thorax computed tomography. We present a three-dimensional reconstructed image of vascular ring in a 77 year-old patient, which was obtained using multidetector computed tomography (MDCT). Multiplanar and three-dimensional reconstructions demonstrated double aortic arch. The advantage of multislice dynamic CT angiography is that it displays vascular and extravascular structures with high quality and widely accepted images.
