Cardiac echinococcosis is rare even in countries where the disease is endemic. Prompt diagnosis and treatment is crucial for the fatal complications. Two dimensional echocardiography, computerised tomography and magnetic resonans imaging are the important diagnostic tools. For the prevention of the fatal complications medical treatment and when necessary surgery should be performed. Here is present a left atrial hydatid cyst, a rare localization for the heart with the multimodality imaging findings.
