Objective:
Our aim is to evaluate effectivity of color Doppler ultrasonography in differentiation of benign and malign lymph nodes in patients with cervical lymphadenomegaly, regarding histopathological results.
Material and methods:
Histopathological analysis was made to 20 patients with cervical lympadenomegaly after color Doppler ultrasonographic examinations.
Results:
Histopathologic results of 20 lymph nodes were: 7 reactive, 5 tuberculosis, 4 lymphoma, and 4 other malign lesions.
Conclusion:
In patients with cervical lymphadenomegaly, color Doppler ultrasonography was found to give additive information in differentiation of benign and malign lymph nodes with combined use of nodal vascularity pattern and color Doppler spectral analysis, to the other diagnostic modalities.
