ABSTRACT

Objective:

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the demographic and etiologic features of 17 bullous pemphigoid patients.

Material and Methods:

Between June 2010 - June 2012, the records of 17 inpatients with bullous pemphigoid were evaluated, retrospectively. Associated neurological diseases, malignancies and drug intake were analyzed.

Results:

Eight patients presented with associated neurologic diseases, three patients with drug intake, two patients with Levodopa and one patient with fosinopril. Detailed malignancy investigations revealed no related malignancies.

Conclusion:

In the present study the frequency of neurological diseases among bullous pemphigoid patients were often. Neurological diseases were considered to be as a trigger factor for inducing bullous pemfigoid.
