ABSTRACT
Invagination is the condition whereby a segment of intestine becomes drawn into the lumen of the proximal bowel. Invagination in adults is a rare situation and the causes are different from childhood group. A 33 years old female patient admitted to emergency service with abdominal pain, nousea and vomiting. In ultrasonography and abdominal computed tomography suspected from invagination so the patient was operated urgently. In operation a mass was palpated and segmental resection was applied. Post-operative 7th day, the patient was discharged from hospital without any complication. In pathological evaluation well-differentiated adenocarcinoma was detected in all polyps.
Although invagination is a rare condition in adult patients when suspected from invagination the possibility of malign tumor should be considered. According to this, wide segmental resection is advised.
